Citizen Alert: San Francisco citizens challenge proposed city-wide WiFi network. Now, 4th generation wireless is on the horizon starting in 2008 with the pending auction of the 700 mhz band of the spectrum by the FCC in the US for WIMAX transmissions. WIMAX networks for wireless television and communications would make WIFi networks obsolete. Meanwhile growing questions about potential health risks from electrosmog conditions, especially a problem now in major cities, remain unaddressed. More info...

"I have no doubt in my mind that, at the present time, the greatest polluting element in the earth's environment is the proliferation of electromagnetic fields." (Interview with Linda Moulton Howe, May 2000)
Robert O. Becker, M.D., Orthopedic Surgeon and pioneering researcher in the field of biological electricity and regeneration. Twice nominated for the Nobel Prize.
Author of The Body Electric (William Morrow & Co., 1987) and Cross Currents (Tarcher/Putnam, 1990).

"More evidence has accumulated suggesting that there are adverse health effects from occupational and public exposures to electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields, or EMF, at current exposure levels. What is needed, but not yet realized, is a comprehensive, independent and transparent examination of the evidence pointing to this emerging, potential public health issue."
The Benevento Resolution, signed by concerned scientists worldwide, 2006, www.icems.eu. |
"The U.S. Federal Communications Commission, (FCC's) exposure guidelines are considered protective of effects arising from a thermal mechanism but not from all possible mechanisms. Therefore, the generalization by many that the guidelines protect human beings from harm by any or all mechanisms is not justified."

"Is it really wise and safe to subject ourselves to whole-body irradiation, all around the clock and wherever we are, with the same mobile radiation which laboratory studies have shown to cause serious injuries and effects?"
Olle Johansson, Ph.D., Neuroscientist, Karolinka Institute, Stockholm, Sweden |
"What if our economy were organized, not around the lifeless abstractions of neoclassical economics and accountability but around the biological realities of nature?"
Bill McKibben, American environmentalist and writer |
